In honour of my best friend's baby being due next week, I thought I'd showcase something else that I love organising - baby showers!

When organising baby showers, most people instantly think of the traditional pink and blue split which always looks really cool when combined well!
So that yours doesn't look tacky, combine different shades, and try not to have things that are either pink OR blue, have things that are pink AND blue instead!!
The other alternative for Mum's-to-be who don't know whether their bump is a little boy or little girl is to go pastel - this is my favorite because you can be much more inventive with the decorations and make the shower more personal!
I love incorporating wishing trees, so that everyone there can make a wish for baby, bunting, as it gives the shower a kitsch, childlike feel, and pastel coloured sweets such as bonbons!
However, if the yummy mummy in question knows if she's expecting a boy or a girl, or it's being held once baby's arrived, then I'll always recommend going all out girly or really boyish!
Now, we all know I love a tea party, but there really is no girlier, prettier, cuter way of welcoming a little girl into the world!!
Just think pink flowers, pink cakes, pink drinks, pink crockery, pink balloons, pink teddies, pink lanterns, pink cushions, pink sweets, everyone could wear pink...! The list really is endless!!!
Simply add some pretty white details for a more vintage look, or crystals and glass for a princessy take.
As far as I'm concerned, blue for a boy is always best!!
For a modern twist, try adding black or chocolate brown, or trendy spots, stripes and stars. These cute blocks add a quirky touch, whilst the too-good-to-eat biscuits give the shower a more traditional feel.
